Deputies Charge Three at Checkpoint...

According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, deputies were conducting a safety checkpoint on County Road 78 in the Mud Creek area and made three arrests Sunday night.  Sgt. Sheldon Estes, Investigator Tony Monroy, Deputy Jamie Parris, and Reserve Deputy Will Bailey were conducting the checkpoint in an area that has been hit heavy by flooding.  Their focus was to help prevent looting but during the checkpoint located a vehicle containing three individuals with methamphetamine and other drugs.  Deputies seized approximately 26 grams of methamphetamine during the stop.  Sgt. Estes charged Eddy J. Hill, 45 of Centre, Genell L. Henderson, 37 of Centre, and Kimberly T. Clemons, 53 of Greenville, South Carolina, with four counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and unlawful possession of marijuana.
