On Friday, Spring Creek, Centre, and Ellisville Fire Departments responded to a structure fire on County Road 936 just outside of Centre around 10:30 am. Upon arrival, fire fighters discovered smoke coming from the residence. After extinguishing the fire, fire fighters called for investigators due to the nature of the fire. Investigators Jordan Kelley and Brent Snead with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene. According to Sheriff Jeff Shaver, investigators determined that the fire was intentionally set and a suspect was developed. Investigators interviewed Brandon Cole Morrison and subsequently arrested Morrison, charging him with Arson 2nd degree and Criminal Mischief 2nd degree. Morrison was booked into the Cherokee County Detention Center around 3:00 pm Friday.
