According to Sheriff Jeff Shaver, Cherokee County deputies arrested a Piedmont man in the Rock Run community Monday night after he attempted to break into a residence.  Cherokee County E-911 received a call around 9 PM from a homeowner stating that a man was trying to get into their house. The suspect, later identified as 43 year-old Jason D. Nicholson, had been spotted earlier in the evening walking around the neighborhood.  Nicholson was not able to make entry into the residence but damaged the door.  Deputies located Nicholson near the residence when they arrived and took him into custody.  He was transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center on charges of attempted second degree burglary, third degree criminal mischief, and public intoxication.
