Two Texas fugitives were taken into custody by Sheriff Jeff Shaver, Sheriff’s Office investigators, and the U.S. Marshal’s Service on Monday at a Cedar Bluff residence.  The couple, Steven G. Hammock, 22, and Kayanda T. Jackson, 19, are wanted by law enforcement in the Austin, Texas area.  Hammock is charged with aggravated robbery and Jackson is wanted for aggravated assault. They were transported by Cedar Bluff Police to the Cherokee County Detention Center where they await extradition back to Texas. Sheriff Shaver said he appreciates the solid relationship between the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Marshal’s Service.
