Sheriff’s Office Investigators Arrest 4 as Part of Drug Investigation…

According to Sheriff Jeff Shaver, Cherokee County investigators executed a search warrant on County Road 29 in the McCord’s Crossroads community on Monday.  Sheriff’s Office deputies and investigators arrested 4 individuals at the residence and recovered a significant amount of methamphetamine and currency.  The search warrant came as a result of a recent drug investigation by Sheriff’s investigators into the sale of illegal drugs.  The occupant of the residence, 58 year-old Mary A. Wade, was charged with trafficking methamphetamine, 5 counts of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance, and 6 counts of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.  The other arrests included, Amber A. Coggins, 26 of Cedar Bluff, Douglas F. Bray, 37 of Cedartown, Georgia, and Jonathan M. Nicholson, 36 of Piedmont.  Those three individuals were also charged with trafficking methamphetamine and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.  Coggins was additionally booked on existing warrants for non-support and failure to appear on theft.  Nicholson also was booked with existing warrants for failure to appear. All four individuals were transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center.
