Sheriff’s Office Investigators Arrest 21 Individuals Last Week…

According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, Sheriff’s Office investigators arrested 21 individuals last week during a concentrated patrol effort in multiple areas across the county.  According to Chief Investigator Josh Summerford, property crimes have been significantly down over the past several months but slightly began to rise with warmer weather.  As part of a plan to keep those property crimes down, investigators conducted the concentrated patrols which resulted in the arrests.  The arrests included:

  • Jeffery F. Poole, 39, of Centre - unlawful possession of a controlled substance (UPOCS) and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia (UPODP)
  • Shannon L. Bogardus, 37, of Centre - UPOCS, UPODP, and using false identity to obstruct justice
  • Connie F. Fountain, 46, of Centre - UPODP and second degree unlawful possession of marijuana (UPOM)
  • Averie M. Stokes, 18, of Centre - second degree UPOM and UPODP
  • Billy G. Bentley, 44, of Gaylesville - UPOCS and UPDOP
  • Ronnie L. Mayhall, 59, of Centre - second degree bail jumping
  • Judd W. Patton, 27,of Leesburg - UPOCS and UPODP
  • Lisa D. Melton, 41, of Centre - UPOCS and UPODP
  • Howard C. Neale, 54, of Cedar Bluff - probation violation
  • James W. Payton, 46, of Centre - UPOCS and UPODP
  • Jammy T. White, 36, of Gaylesville - parole violation
  • Zachary W. Marcum, 18, of Leesburg - second degree UPOM and UPODP
  • Denisha G. Sluss, 36 of Leesburg, second degree UPOM, UPODP, third degree domestic violence, chemical endangerment
  • Austin K. Hubbard, 22, of Cedar Bluff - UPOCS and UPODP, resisting arrest, probation violation and attempting to elude
  • Miranda L. Sanford, 21, of Gaylesville - second degree hindering prosecution
  • Michael A. Zuber, 26, of Cedar Bluff - second degree hindering prosecution
  • Alexis M. Siffles, 20, of Cedar Bluff - second degree hindering prosecution
  • Adrienne N. Tucker, 33, of Gaylesville - chemical endangerment
  • Rusty W. Fike, 21, of Centre - failure to appear on traffic violations
