According to Sheriff Jeff Shaver, a mock traffic accident will be conducted at the Cherokee County High School football stadium on Monday, April 2 2018. Sheriff's Office Investigator Jordan Kelley has coordinated the event with school staff and other public safety agencies. The purpose is to help students be aware of the realities and dangers of drinking and driving. Sheriff Shaver stated, “A large presence of law enforcement, fire and emergency medical services will be at the CCHS around 8:30 a.m. It is only a drill, so please do no be alarmed.”
