Sheriff’s Office and Sand Rock Fire Department Partner to Establish Sheriff’s Substation…

02/12/2018

The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office and the Sand Rock Fire Department have partnered to open a Sheriff's Office substation, which will be located inside the Sand Rock Fire Department building. The substation will provide a greater officer presence in Sand Rock and other communities located on Lookout Mountain, like Tucker’s Chapel. Shaver stated, “We appreciation the Sand Rock Fire Department for graciously opening up their facility to us to offer an office for deputies to stop to do paperwork and at times meet with people for reports or other matters."

In 2017 the Sheriff’s Office and the Town of Gaylesville teamed up to open a Sheriff’s Substation at the Gaylesville Town Hall. Shaver said, “We are hoping to open a substation on the south end of our county sometime in the near future. Proximity to the schools was a key factor in choosing the locations for the substations."
