A  vehicle was reported stolen from the Centre area on Tuesday, May 30, 2017.  Sheriff's Office Investigators Tony Monroy and Jeremy Stepps located the stolen vehicle under the Highway 35 bridge in Gaylesville. The driver attempted to flee and led them on a brief pursuit through the woods, before he was apprehended.  According to Sheriff Jeff Shaver, Brandon D. Connell, 24, of Gaylesville was arrested and charged with first degree theft or property, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of marijuana. Connell was transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center, where he awaits bond.
