According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, four individuals were arrested last week in connection with a burglary and theft which occurred in the Ferrill Community.  Investigator Jeremy Stepps recovered most of the property stolen from the residence, including firearms and electronics.  Etowah County deputies arrested Cody R. Nesmith, 33, and Sidney D. Fitts, 47, both of Attalla.  The suspects were transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center and booked on charges of second degree theft of property.  DeKalb County deputies arrested Alex B. Hilyer, 35, of Collinsville, and he was charged with third degree burglary and second degree theft.  Jeffery L. Hawkins, 49, of Cedar Bluff was charged with conspiracy to commit burglary and theft.
