Body of Missing Woman Recovered-Suspect Charged with Murder...

According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, investigators with the Cherokee County Major Crimes Unit recovered the body of Karen R. Willmon, 68, of Centre, on Sunday, February 19, 2017.  Sheriff's Office investigators from Cherokee County and Etowah County arrested her son, Larry W. Bodily, 48, of Centre later on Sunday evening.  Deputies transported Bodily to the Cherokee County Detention Center, where he is being held for murder.

Sheriff Shaver stated, "We are all very sorry for the tragic loss of Ms. Willmon and hope that the resolution of this case brings some closure for her loved ones."  Shaver further stated, "I am very proud of the diligent effort of investigators to solve this horrible case."

According to Chief Investigator Josh Summerford, "We appreciate the excellent cooperation of investigators from the Cherokee County Major Crimes Unit, Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, Etowah County Sheriff's Office, Polk County, Georgia, Sheriff's Office, and the Jacksonville State University's Center for Applied Forensics."
