Cherokee County Major Crimes Unit Executes Warrants and Makes Drug Arrest in Cedar Bluff

According to Chief Investigator Josh Summerford, on Monday, October 3, 2016, Cherokee County Major Crimes Unit investigators executed a search warrant at a residence on County Road 44 in Cedar Bluff and found illegal drugs, including methamphetamines.  Jeremy Ray White, 34, and Crystal L. Shelton, 25, were taken into custody on multiple charges and warrants.  White had an existing warrant for non-payment of child support and was additionally charged with first degree receiving stolen property, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and second degree unlawful possession of marijuana.  Shelton was charged with using a false identity to obstruct justice, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and second degree unlawful possession of marijuana.  Shelton also had warrant for bond revocation in Cherokee County, and she will be extradited to Georgia for a parole violation.  Both are currently being held in the Cherokee County Detention Center.
