Five Arrested on Drug Charges in Gaylesville

According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, investigators and deputies arrested a total of five people in  three separate incidences on Tuesday, April 26, 2016, for various drug and weapon charges.  Jason D. Watwood, 29, and Jamie M. Ray, 43, both of Gaylesville, were arrested and charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, second degree unlawful possession of marijuana, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.  Ray is on hold for Floyd County, Georgia, on an outstanding warrant for shoplifting. 

During a traffic stop, Cody W. Aycock, 23, and Valerie N. Johnson, 25, both of Gaylesville , were arrested and charged with second degree unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.  Aycock also had an outstanding warrant on prior charges of first degree possession of marijuana. 

Investigators executed a search warrant at Aycock’s residence where additional amounts of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and an illegal firearm were found, resulting in additional charges of first degree unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia for both suspects and Aycock being charged with possession of a short-barreled shotgun.  During the execution of the search warrant, Chester W. Aycock was arrested and also charged for the same offenses. 

Deputies transported all of the suspects to the Cherokee County Detention Center, where they await bond.
