Cherokee County Investigators Recover Stolen Property in Georgia

02/14/2016

According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, Timothy D. Strickland, 34, of Centre and Latasha L. Jeffers, 23, of Piedmont were arrested in connection with a theft from a home in the Country Club area that occurred last weekend.

Deputy Tyler Perea responded to the call and issued a be-on-the-lookout for the couple and their vehicle from information provided by a vigilant neighbor.  Leesburg Investigator Brian Gilliland recognized the description and was able to identify the couple with help from the eye-witness.

Investigators developed information through the week about the location of the stolen property, and on Thursday night, February 11, 2016, Chief Investigator Josh Summerford and Investigator Brent Snead recovered the stolen property in Haralson County, Georgia.

Strickland and Jeffers were taken into custody on Sunday.   Both suspects remain in the Cherokee County Detention Center on theft charges and a revoked bond from a prior charge.  Sheriff Shaver stated this case should remind everyone how important it is to be aware of unusual activity and be a good neighbor by watching out for each other.
