According to Sheriff Jeff Shaver, Cherokee County deputies and investigators executed a search warrant in the Mud Creek community on Wednesday, November 25, 2015, resulting in the arrest Mark Anthony Babb, 44, of Silver Creek, Georgia. 

Investigators received information Babb was in possession of methamphetamine at a residence on County Road 803.  After a short investigation, a search warrant was obtained and executed.  Investigators seized approximately one-half ounce of methamphetamine.  Babb is charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and possession with intent to distribute.

Sheriff Shaver expressed his appreciation to the Rome-Floyd Metro Task Force for their assistance in the case, and stated he appreciates the cooperation between Georgia law enforcement and Sheriff’s Office investigators.
