Chase Ends in Arrest of Gaylesville Man

   According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, a Gaylesville man was apprehended after attempting to flee from a deputy early Wednesday morning, August 26. Deputy Dustin Huggins spotted a vehicle reportedly taken from a residence without permission and attempted to make a traffic stop then the driver fled. The suspect abandoned the vehicle on County Road 597 and ran behind a residence, where he was apprehended by Deputy Huggins. Elvis Pietri, age 37, was arrested on charges of unauthorized use of a vehicle and attempting to elude a police officer.
