Stolen Vehicles Recovered from Weiss Lake

   On Monday morning, July 13, 2015, the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office recovered 4 stolen vehicles from Weiss Lake. A fisherman spotted something in his side-view sonar near the public boat ramp at Bay Springs and reported it to Sheriff Shaver. Cherokee County Rescue Squad divers and personnel were called in to assist in the recovery and worked throughout the day. Sheriff Jeff Shaver stated the first vehicle appears to have been stripped, one vehicle was reported stolen in Centre and one vehicle was reported stolen from Gadsden. More information will be released when the recovery operation is completed.
