According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, three Gadsden residents were arrested on multiple charges after attempting to elude Deputy Jeremy Stepps on Saturday afternoon, March 21st. Deputy Stepps observed a vehicle speeding on County Road 32, and as he attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver attempted to flee, lost control, and ran into ditch. An occupant threw a container out of the vehicle before it came to rest in a yard at the intersection of County Roads 32 and 19. Deputies arrested Nickey Adrian Jenkins, 39, Crystal June Terry, 34, and Jonathan Michael Jackson, 27, all of Gadsden. The suspects were each charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, attempting to elude a police officer, and tampering with physical evidence. Jenkins, Terry, and Jackson were transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center where they remain awaiting a bond hearing. This case remains under investigation.
