According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, a routine traffic stop led to two Rome men being arrested on drug charges. Around noon on Monday, March 9, 2015, Deputy Jeremy Stepps stopped a truck for speeding on US Highway 411 north. Stepps observed the passenger toss on object from the window, which turned out to be drug paraphernalia. A search of the vehicle and the occupants revealed drug paraphernalia and a clear plastic bag containing a crystal like substance which tested positive as methamphetamine. Jonathan William York, 26, is charged with tampering with physical evidence, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession with the intent to distribute. Bradley Keith Myers, 29, is charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, possession with the intent to distribute, and an illegal weapons charge. Both men were transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center.
