According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, an escapee from Marshall County Work Release was captured at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Monday, December 16.  Chief Deputy Tim Hays and Leesburg Chief Lanny Ransum along with officers from Marshall County discovered the suspect, 27 year old Jamie Lamar Dawson, hiding inside a mobile home on Hale Drive in Leesburg.  Dawson was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Cherokee County Detention Facility on charges related to negotiating worthless negotiable instruments.  He will be extradited to Marshall County to face escape charges.
