Grand Jury Arrest Leads To More Charges

     On November 21, 2012, Cherokee County Sheriff Deputy Nick Vaughn received information that a suspect wanted on 37 grand jury indictments was staying at a local motel.  Chief Deputy Tim Hayes, Investigator Brent Snead, Deputy Keith Morgan, and Reserve Officer Jeremy Stepps responded to the location and arrested two men on drug, property, and other charges.  According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, methamphetamine, marijuana, cash, and a handgun reported stolen from Piedmont, Alabama, were found in the men's possession.  Keioga Troy Quarles and Joshua Pettyjohn were taken into custody and charged with possession of a controlled substance, second degree possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and third degree receiving stolen property.  Mr. Quarles is also being held on the 37 grand jury indictments.
