Rescue Crews Search for Drowning Victim in Cedar Bluff

According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, authorities are searching for a suspected drowning victim in the area of Weiss Lake Marina near Cedar Bluff.  A 27 year old man identified as Matthew Huether of Rome, Georgia, was swimming around an anchored pontoon boat on Sunday when he began to struggle and went under the water.  Family members called 911, and Cedar Bluff Police Department, Cedar Bluff and Gaylesville Fire Departments, Alabama Marine Police, Cherokee, Etowah and Piedmont Rescue Squads, and the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene.  The search for the missing swimmer continues.
