According to Sheriff Jeff Shaver, a Piedmont man attempted to elude law enforcement overnight in the Spring Garden area.  Deputy Smith observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed and attempted to stop the car.  He recognized that the vehicle eluded Piedmont Police last week.  The driver, Brenton Thompson, wrecked when attempting to negotiate a curve at the intersection of 278 and County Road 126.  The suspect was transported by ambulance to a hospital and will face charges upon his release.
