According to Sheriff Jeff Shaver, Cherokee County deputies arrested 55-year-old, Karen W. Blair of Piedmont as the result of an animal cruelty investigation.  Deputies received a report of a neglected horse located at a residence on Highway 9 near Goshen on Thursday.  Investigators charged Blair with cruelty to animals and she was transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center.  Cherokee County Animal Control and deputies took possession of the horse in order to provide care for the neglected horse.
