National Correctional Officers and Employees Week...
This week has been set aside, nationally, to celebrate and honor the tremendous work that is carried out by our Correctional Officers.
On May 5, 1984, President Ronald Reagan proclaimed the first full week of May as National Correctional Officers Week. Correctional Officers are the unseen heroes who work along-side law enforcement officers to help protect lives both inside and outside of jail.
I want to take time to say 'Thank You' to all of the Correctional Officers and employees who work inside the Cherokee County Detention Center. Your hard work and dedication to making our community a safer place does not go unnoticed. I am grateful to you all, and your families, for your commitment and sacrifice to CCSO.
President Reagan said it best in 1987, "No group of Americans has a more difficult or less publicly visible job than the brave men and women who work in our correctional facilities."
