Classroom in the Forest Youth Firearms Training...

05/18/2017

On May 12, 2017,  Cherokee County Sheriff's Office firearms instructor, Matt Sims, participated in Classroom in the Forest, instructing Cherokee County youths in safe and proper use of firearms. The program was sponsored by the Alabama Treasure Forest Association and held by the Cherokee County Forestry Planning Committee. The committee is comprised of the Alabama Extension Office, Alabama 4-H, Natural Resources Conservation Service, the Forestry Commission, and Farm Service Agency.  The Cherokee Sheriff’s office appreciates all opportunities to be of service to the community, especially to our youth. Investigator Sims and Monroy led the same training that took place last week at the Chattokee Lodge in Gaylesville.
