On Friday, March 17, 2017, deputies and investigators from the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office and the Chattooga County Georgia Sheriff's Office teamed up in the Cloudland and Jamestown areas and conducted driver’s license and safety checkpoints.  Sheriff Shaver stated this proactive patrolling along the state border proved to be productive as investigators arrested four people for illegal drugs at a residence on County Road 66 as part of the operation.  Andrea Jean Hilliard, 43, Randall Haley Hilliard, 36, and Billy Ray White, 32, all of Mentone, and Shelly Gail Vanco, 47, of Summerville, Georgia, were arrested and charged with second degree unlawful possession of marijuana, other controlled substances and drug paraphernalia.  All four are currently in the Cherokee County Detention Center awaiting bond.
