Sheriff’s Office and Alabama Department of Conservation Team Up for Terrapin Creek Safety Detail

On Saturday, July 16, 2016, Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office personnel teamed up with officers from the Alabama Department of Conservation to promote safety on Terrapin Creek.  Game Wardens issued several warnings and citations to kayakers on the creek for littering and not having life preservers as required by state law.  During the detail, two were arrested for underage drinking.  Sheriff Shaver stated the goal of joint efforts like this are important to keep Terrapin Creek clean and safe for individuals, families, and groups looking for fun recreation.
