Deputies and Marshals Arrest Leesburg Man for Georgia Armed Robbery

According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force and Sheriff's Office investigators arrested William E. Hopkins, Jr., 48, of Leesburg at a residence in Cedar Bluff on Wednesday, June 22, 2016.  The suspect is wanted in Clayton County, Georgia, for armed robbery.  Hopkins was arrested for several outstanding Cherokee County warrants, including failure to appear for burglary, theft by deception, third degree theft of property, attempting to elude, and fishing without a license.  Hopkins was transported to the Cherokee County Detention, where he will remain until local charges are satisfied, then he will be extradited to Georgia for the armed robbery charge.
