On Tuesday, June 7, 2016, deputies recovered a motorcycle stolen from Floyd County.  Corporal Nick Vaughn and Deputy John Sentell attempted to stop the motorcycle on Alabama Highway 68 in Gaylesville, but the driver refused to pull over and fled.  When they reached Hilltop Drive, the suspect abandoned the bike and ran.   According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, deputies were able to identify the suspect and warrants are expected to be issued for first degree receiving stolen property and attempting to elude.  The stolen motorcycle was towed to the Sheriff’s Office impound lot and will be returned to the owner.
