In the early morning hours of Sunday, March 13, 2016, deputies and Piedmont Police officers responded to an alarm at the Spring Garden General Store and discovered someone had shot open the front door.  It was determined that nothing was missing from the store, and a suspect was quickly identified by law enforcement.  According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, investigators took a juvenile into custody on Tuesday, March 22, and charged the suspect with the burglary.  Deputies transported the juvenile to the Coosa Valley Detention Center.
