Three Arrested on Drug Charges in Cedar Bluff

   According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, investigators with the Criminal Investigation and Counter-Drug Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in Cedar Bluff on October 5, 2015, culminating a six-month long drug investigation. Jeremy Lee Crane, 32, of Cedar Bluff, Travis James Barnes, 24, and Robert Dewayne Abernathy, 35, of Piedmont were arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Crane was additionally charged with unlawful distribution of methamphetamine and illegal possession of firearms. All three are currently being housed at the Cherokee County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
