Four Suspects Arrested After Chase Across State Line

   According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, four Georgia residents were arrested shortly after midnight on Thursday, September 17, 2015, after attempting to elude Georgia law enforcement and fleeing into Cherokee County. Deputy Dustin Huggins responded and pursued the vehicle onto Alabama Highway 35, where the driver ran the vehicle into a ditch. All the occupants jumped from the vehicle and fled on foot. The suspects were captured and transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center. Shannon M. Cuzzort, 31, Knasas D. Gravitt, 25, Kayla D. Edgeworth, 25, Heather M. Jordan, 27, all of Rome are charged with attempting to elude a police officer. They are currently on hold for Chattooga County, Georgia.
