Georgia Burglary Suspect Captured in Cherokee County Following Pursuit

    According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, a suspect wanted in relation to several pharmacy burglaries in Floyd County, Georgia, was arrested in Cedar Bluff last night following a pursuit.  Deputy Jeremy Stepps spotted a vehicle matching the description of the suspect’s at approximately 3:24 a.m. on Alabama Highway 9 near Cedar Bluff.  As Deputy Stepps attempted to stop the vehicle, two passengers jumped out and fled on foot.  The driver, David Dewayne Brown, age 30, of Birmingham was taken into custody and charged with possession of a controlled substance and attempting to elude a police officer.  Brown was transported to the Cherokee County Detention Facility where he remains on a hold for Floyd County.  Authorities are still on the look-out for the other two suspects.
