Bone Arrested for Burglary

   According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, on Friday, December 27th, investigators were dispatched to the scene of a burglary in Leesburg.  Officers found a cell phone at the scene and obtained burglary warrants on the owner of the cell phone, David Bone of Sand Rock.  While executing the arrest warrants on Bone at his residence, investigators recovered several items reported stolen from the homeowner in Leesburg.  They obtained a search warrant for Bones’ residence and discovered evidence linking Bone to two other burglaries in the same area of Leesburg.  David Bone was charged with third degree burglary, first degree theft of property, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.  Bone was also charged with escape after he attempted to flee from officers while handcuffed.  These cases remain under investigation and additional charges are expected against Bone related other burglary cases.  Anyone with information about these or other crimes are asked to contact Investigator Matt Peek at (256) 927-3365 or the tipline at (256)  927-9999.
