According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, deputies and first responders were dispatched to an all-terrain vehicle accident that occurred at approximately 4:45 p.m. off County Road 33 on Frog Mountain. A 21 year old Piedmont man on an ATV went off a 30 foot cliff in a gravel pit located on the mountain. According to a witness, the victim ran off the cliff and the ATV landed on top of him causing serious injuries. Deputies Daniel Money and Tyler Perea responded and assisted the ambulance service in getting the victim to the local hospital. He was later airlifted to Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga.
