06/05/2013

A Leesburg man was arrested yesterday, for the unlawful breaking and entering of several vehicles. The vehicle break-ins occurred on Sunday at a church in the Gaylesville area. While en-route to another call, Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver spotted a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle involved in the break-ins and contacted Deputy Michael Woods over the radio. Woods, assisted by Cedar Bluff Police Chief Steve Walden, verified that the driver, who was identified as Terry Wayne Parks, was their suspect.  Parks confessed to the crimes and led Sheriff's Office Investigators Matt Peek and Tony Monroy to a location near the church where the stolen items were hidden.  Parks is currently incarcerated in the Cherokee County Detention Facility awaiting a bond hearing.
