Brothers arrested for Methamphetamine manufacture and firearms charges

On Thursday June 23, 2011 at approximately 10:00 a.m. Cherokee County Sheriff?s Office Investigators and Narcotics Agents responded to a request for assistance by Officers from the Alabama Department of Pardons and Parole, who were located at a residence at 8450 County Rd 29, Piedmont Alabama.

The Parole officers were at the residence, located in Cherokee County, attempting to serve arrest warrants on a Parolee, Jesse Ray Proctor. While attempting to gain access into the residence, Parole Officers noticed items outside the residence consistent with the manufacture of Methamphetamine. Agents and Investigators arrived a short time later and gained entry into the residence.

Upon making entry into the residence, Agents located the brother of the Parolee, Terry Anthony Procter, attempting to hide in a back bedroom. Subsequently thereafter, Agents obtained consent to search the residence and located and seized a clandestine Methamphetamine Lab along with a .38 caliber handgun and several items of drug paraphernalia.

As Agents and Investigators were processing the scene, Jesse Ray Proctor arrived at the residence and was immediately taken into custody. Both Procter subjects were transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center where they were booked and are being held pending bond on charges of Manufacture of a Controlled Substance 1st degree, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Unlawful Possession of a pistol. In addition, Jesse Ray Proctor is being held on the parole warrant as well as outstanding warrants for the Oxford Police Department.
